I aim to be transparent and predictable about costs. Below is a clear breakdown of my hourly rates, fixed-fee options and retainer packages for ongoing support.

Hourly Rates

Standard rate

£75 per hour

Used for most drafting, research, and advisory work.

Urgent rate

£95 per hour

For work required within 24 hours or outside normal working hours.

Administrative support

£45 per hour

For bundling, formatting, pagination and low-complexity tasks.

Fixed-Fee Services

(Prices depend on complexity. You will be quoted in advance.)

FOI request drafting – from £45
SAR drafting – from £55
Challenge to FOI/SAR refusal – from £65
Simple planning enforcement representation – from £120
Highways Act notice (drafting only) – from £95
Stage 1 local authority complaint – from £75
LGSCO complaint drafting – from £125
HMRC written appeal submissions – from £150

All fixed fees are confirmed in writing before work begins.

Retainer Options

For ongoing or complex matters.

Then:

3 hours per month – £200
5 hours per month – £325
Custom monthly retainers available by agreement

Small note:

Retainer hours are paid monthly in advance. Hours do not roll over unless agreed in writing.

Payment Terms

Invoices are payable within 7 days
Minimum billing unit: 30 minutes
Work begins once you have confirmed instructions
Payment by bank transfer
Fixed fees may require upfront payment
